WORLD SHOTOKAN KARATE-DO SOUTH AFRICA
In June 1990 a group of senior South African instructors pledged support for the establishment of Hitoshi Kasuya Sensei's WORLD SHOTOKAN KARATE-DO FEDERATION. These founder members remain committed instructors in the federation.
The South African branch of the WSKF is a highly disciplined organization that adheres to traditional Japanese karate-do and maintains a close connection to Kasuya Sensei and the honbu dojo (headquarters) in Japan. Many senior South African instructors have received intensive training there at special international training courses (gashuku) or have been graded to higher ranks.
WSKF South Africa is administered from the national office in Johannesburg, with member clubs spread across the country.
